Instagram post 18043639702205382 Outside getting firewood and taking the pup for a quick walk before 7 this morning... the bay just froze over last night, but there’s still open water wayyy out there, steaming in this -17°C weather! ❄️ So beautiful I had to run back inside for the camera. I think this might be the earliest that I’ve seen the lake freeze in a few years! ☺️

Now, this is all wonderful - truly! But what about mom? What about the woman who just spent 9 months growing a human and who-knows-how-long giving birth to that human?🤰🏼

Unless there is an obvious cause, that mother will likely not be assessed by a medical professional until 6 weeks after her baby is born. Can you believe it? Six whole weeks! The problem is that postpartum mood disorders aren’t always obvious. Infections aren’t always obvious. Malnourishment, exhaustion, and inflammation aren’t always obvious. As a result, many women are left struggling and alone for far too long.”

It was so nice to spend time with my sister @nestledhandwovens and her little ones, we did all the summer activities: sailing, SUP, swimming, eating loads of blueberries,  peaches and ice cream... basically packed a summer into one week ☺️
.
Now I’m going to do some yoga, drink my coffee and get back into my morning routine, because I’m (not so) secretly the biggest homebody ever, & I love quiet Monday mornings! 😆 Is anyone else the same??

PS. If you’re strawberries are not organic be sure to soak them in filtered water + vinegar or some lemon essential oil to remove pesticide residue, because they are at the top of the EWG dirty dozen list! 🍋
