My name is Jasmine Laurel, and I am currently studying Holistic Nutrition at alive Academy of Natural Health. I completed my BSc in Natural Science at Lakehead University in the spring of 2015, with a strong focus on wildlife biology and evolution.
Since a very young age, I have taken a keen interest in the health of our natural environment. More recently I have realized how our health is intrinsically related to the health our ecosystems. I intend to encourage others to take responsibility for their own wellbeing through holistic health and nutrition. I believe that eating a plant based, organic diet of unprocessed whole foods will change the way that we interact with our natural resources, and result in a widespread epidemic health for anyone who is willing to take on the challenge.
As I begin my education in natural health, I want to share what I learn along the way, and use this website to reach out to others with similar interests. I hope to write about a variety of topics – from nutrition, to environmental conservation, fitness, natural products such as essential oils, and share some of my favourite healthy recipes!
I chose the name Wild Green Life because in the summer months, my family lives on an island in the Kawartha Lakes that we like to refer to as Wildcat Island. It’s wild, its green all over (and off the grid!), and definitely embodies the sort of holistic lifestyle that I strive to achieve!
